On July 19, 2009, Gov. Bobby Jindal presented Vernon Parish with a block grant using a cartoonish, mock-up check displaying his name, and only his name, on the lower right signature line despite the fact that most of the money came from the federal stimulus plan of President Obama he has publicly opposed.
Furthermore, he followed that event up less than 24 hours later by celebrating his “gracious” grant check with Sean Hannity on Fox as well as penning an op-ed for Politico that once again bashed the Recovery Act he had just hijacked to create the block grant.
Similarly, the Jefferson Parish Democratic Executive Committee would like to accept the credit it is solely due for the following recent events:
