Daniel Zimmerman seeks help for Hurricane Victims

Kenner, La. September 6, 2004 -- Daniel Zimmerman, a candidate in Louisiana's First Congressional District, will be coordinating with local businesses and individuals to collect non-perishable food, clothes, and toys for the victims of the Florida hurricanes. When asked why he is doing this in the middle of a political campaign, he said “I feel that it is the civic duty of every individual to help those in need. The campaign has put me into the public eye. If I can use that to help these people who could potentially be hit by 3 hurricanes in a month, then I intend to do so.”

People who are interested in contributing to the relief effort should check the campaign website for a list of donation locations when they are made available. These locations will be announced by the end of the week. Businesses across the district should contact the Daniel Zimmerman Campaign Committee if they are interested in being drop off points for the items to be donated. Volunteers for this relief effort should also contact the campaign as well.
